My Chubster....

So our little monster is almost 6 months old and has officially acquired his share of baby fat. Between the muffin-top belly, the rubber-band wrists, and the thigh rolls, he's brings us pounds of joy each and every day!
He is doing a wonderful job of sitting up on his own and has started reaching for stuff around him... which usually leads to him holding himself up in a crawl-like position. He's just not sure what to do next!

When I think back to six months ago when I was not-so-patiently waiting for him to arrive, I could hardly believe how much I loved my unborn child. Now, half a year has gone by and my heart bursts when I think about how proud I am of this wonderful boy. Sometimes I put him in bed and just watch him breathe in and out and think of all the spectacular days to come. He is my whole world.

I dare you not to smile while watching this video...

See what a little peek-a-boo can do...

Brennan's First Tractor!

At 5 months and 6 days, Brennan Adam Kunst is now the proud owner of his first John Deere tractor. Check out his farming clothes - John Deere onesie and John Deere overalls... if only John Deere made diapers! Well, his little feet may not reach the pedals yet, but he demonstrated his balancing skills by holding on to the steering wheel for some photo opportunities. Daddy even got to give him rides around the house. Look's like he's on his way to becoming Daddy's little farmer!

Brennan is the King of Rolling Over!

Check out a short vidoeo clip of Brennan rolling over tonight. He's finally gotten really good at it. While we missed his first time, we caught this one and we've found that our little muchkin is well on his way to becoming Rolly-Poly-Oly.

For mothers... this will pull at your heartstrings!

Before I was a mom, I never tripped over toys or forgot the words to a lullaby. I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous. I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a mom, I had never been puked on, pooped on, chewed on, or peed on. I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts. I slept all night.

Before I was a mom, I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests or give shots. I never looked into teary eyes and cried. I neer got gloriously happy over a simple grin. I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a mom, I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put him down. I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt. I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much. I never knew that I could love someone so much. I never knew I would love being a mom.

Before I was a mom, I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body. I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby. I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child. I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a mom, I had never gotten up in the middle of the night ever ten minutes to make sure all was okay. I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment, or hte satisfaction of being a mom. I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a mom.

Brennan is 5 Months Old!!!

As you can see, it's getting harder and harder to find time to post. Brennan is certainly keeping us busy. I think he's decided he's too grown up for naps, so he spends his time gabbing and smiling and generally being cute instead. We brought him in to the doctor last week to see about some of his skin issues and spit up. We are now treating him for excema, which is basically extreme dry skin. It's only been a few days of vaseline and hydrocortizone, but he's looking great! He's still taking soy formula and the doctor thinks some of the spit up may diminish as he starts eating rice cereal and some solid foods.

Brennan is really starting to show some personality and we are constantly amazed by his many facial expressions. Here are a few recent pics:
